Mindvalley Quests

Online learning  program & set design

Mindvalley is an online learning platform and app that offers self-development courses called Quests. Every Quest features a different author or expert teaching their craft through a series of video lessons, and each one required its own visual identity. These Quests are also available on several airlines as part of their in-flight entertainment systems, and so the design had to function there as well.

From 2017 to 2026, I designed hundreds of these Quests, working closely with the course creators to understand their course material and translate it into an engaging visual identity that both reflected the nature of the course and stood out on the Mindvalley platform. This included the Quest cover images, weekly covers and art directing the physical sets that the course would be filmed in.

Apple Store Demo App

This work was available in Apple Stores worldwide after the Mindvalley app was selected as an official Apple demo app. Being featured as part of an experience Apple deemed representative of its devices was an exciting milestone, giving the project an exceptional level of global visibility.

Visual Development

Each Quest required a cohesive visual system across its cover, supporting assets, banners and the physical set used for filming. I worked closely with each Quest author to understand their subject matter, personality and vision, translating these into a visual direction that could carry consistently across the course.

With hundreds of Quests spanning a wide range of subjects, I worked across a diverse mix of visual styles, constantly finding new ways to keep the platform feeling fresh while maintaining a recognisable Mindvalley aesthetic. The challenge was to give each course its own distinct identity while ensuring it still felt part of the wider Mindvalley experience.

Apple Store Demo App

Mindvalley was selected to be featured on Apple Store demo devices, giving customers around the world the opportunity to explore a curated version of the app. To support this experience, I helped create a dedicated demo version with custom visuals and carefully selected content, ensuring the platform made a strong first impression in a retail environment.

Airline Entertainment

Mindvalley courses were also adapted for airline entertainment systems, extending the platform beyond mobile and desktop devices. I reworked course covers and supporting assets to suit the unique specifications of in-flight entertainment screens, ensuring each retained its clarity, consistency and visual impact.

Set Design

Beyond the visual identity, I also art directed the environments in which each Quest was filmed, giving each a unique environment that fit into the Quest's visual identity. I developed the creative direction for these sets, producing mockups, mood boards and layout plans while sourcing furniture, décor and styling. Working closely with the production team, I helped bring each concept from initial design through to the final filmed set.
